The Liverpool Underground Film Festival is a unique festival born during lockdown. It is a seasonal film and screenplay competition that culminates in a week-long festival ending with an awards event in Summer.

The festival seeks to showcase daring, unique, and entertaining independent films that transgress convention while challenging complacent audience expectations. We are committed to supporting filmmakers working outside of established industry infrastructures by providing a platform for exhibition and critical discussion, and fostering an alternative, international community based around independent and experimental cinema.

Our directors intend not only to award films but to discuss them on our fortnightly podcast and blog.

Once the lockdown eases, we will update you as to our venue for 2021. All passes and tickets will be available in Summer once the programme is announced.

All updates regarding our 2021 festival will appear here. In the mean time, please check our monthly winners and blog
