SEASONAL COMPETITION

Each season we hold a competition with the following prizes awarded:

Best Feature Film
Best Short Film
Best Documentary
Best Animation
Best Director
Best Actor/Actress
Best Supporting Actor/Actress
Best Cinematography
Best Editing
Best Original Score
Best Sound Design
Best Screenplay

Each winner will receive a certificate, and will be showcased in our blog and podcast.

What we want to avoid is sending out a list and leaving it there. We will discuss and review chosen films and the impact they've had on us. The goal is to put a spotlight on the chosen work.

Please note: every submission to the Liverpool Underground Film Festival is eligible for selection in May. If you haven't won an award and aren't showcased for that month, it doesn't mean we have lost interest. As Lars von Trier said, ""a film should be like a stone in your shoe".

Submission deadlines for each month are the 21st, including an Earlybird, Regular and Late deadline. We will announce the winners of that season in the following month. 

​

The final deadline for the annual festival is 21st February, and you will be notified by the 1st April.
